Robin Lehner made 41 saves and the Ottawa Senators beat the New York Rangers 3-2 Saturday night to stop a two game losing streak.
Mark Stone and Mike Zibanejad doubled the lead for Ottawa in the first period, while Jason Spezza scored his 20th of the season for the eight time of his career.
Spezza was credited with the winning goalé
Mats Zuccarello scored twice, but wasn’t enough for the Blueshirts to clinch a playoff spot.
Lehner got the best of his childhood idol Henrik Lundvist who stopped 31 of 34 shots he faced.
The Sens played a second game in 24 hours for the second time this week. Fatigue was not an issue last night after a humiliating loss 7-4 to the Montreal Canadiens.
Ottawa still has four games to play before going on vacation.
Sens will play their next game Tuesday night in Lomg Island against the Islanders.
