Milan Michalek scored two goals in the first period and the Senators have won a second consecutive game Sunday, defeating the Calgary Flames 6-3.
These were his 15th and 16th of the season for the Czech.
Kyle Turris also added two goals last night, one in an empty net to complete the final score.
Jared Cowen and Clarke MacArthur also helped their team to win with the other two goals.
Ales Hemsky and Clarke MacArthur had two points night.
Robin Lehner was in nets for the Senators, even if Craig Anderson has recovered from his injury. The Swede made 37 saves for a second win in a row.
Lehner allowed goals to Matt Stajan in the first period and from Paul Byron and Sean Monahan in the second period.
The Sens only trailed once in the game.
Monahan broke a 2 goal tied game in the second period, but the four unanswered goals from the local team allowed them to keep their streak going to four with at least one point. During this sequence, they picked up seven out of a possibility of eight points. Sens are now six points back on the eight place Columbus Blue Jackets.
With eight games to play, do you still believe in a miracle for Ottawa until the end of the season?
Will they cause a surprise by clinching a playoff spot?
